Fire of Life and Destruction

Heatwaves and wildfire have always been in the natural order. But in recent years, the severeness of heat waves and wildfire have risen exponentially. Causing mass disruption for both humans and nature. A decade ago, the anomaly started in California, and now even places like Western Europe, a place we would never think of.

One significant group that may have got impacted by the anomaly is monarch butterflies. Recently IUCN declared the Monarch butterfly an endangered species, followed by the whole population declining 22% to 72% compared to a decade ago. Even worse for the western population, with a 99.9% decrease for western populations between the 1980s to 2021. And coincidentally the heatwaves and wildfires that spread like a plague globally started in California about a decade ago, making us suspect the strong connection between the missing Monarch butterfly and wildfire. Maybe this is some kind of warning made by Mother Gaia to mankind, maybe we are next…

But are humans the primary villain for the status of the Earth right now? It has been a great debate about whether global warming has been mainly caused by human activities after the industrial revolution, when humans rapidly started emitting tons of greenhouse gas per year, which is proven to have an impact on the Earth's temperature. In 2007, a senate report from The US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works of 400 scientists disputing man-made global warming claims was published. However, no scientists have come to a concrete conclusion on whether climate change is caused by human activities due to the lack of tools and evidence to support their claim.

A primary goal of project Polaris is constructing the Cyberstellar Metaverse which can further be expanded to monitor different nature/human factors simultaneously. By allowing nanosatellite operators to use Platograph to connect pieces of evidence they've found, they may come out with a precise conclusion and bring balance to our world.
